ITV back charge

Are people non residents aware that if you missed your car ITV then you will charged back to month your test expired..in my case to July 2020

Advised by neighbour...whom was back charged to his expiry date of last test.

Do you mean it was dated back to original expiry date? Confused with your "back charged" sounded like your were having to pay extra. I suppose this is correct process in Spain as is you can't drive your vehicle to an appointment, has to be a grua take it. Differrent countries.

Hi Barry,

Like Paulsav, I was also confused by your reference to "back-charge".  Even last year, when people were given a grace period in which to renew their ITV because of Covid restictions, the renewal was backdated to the original expiry date.  This is normal practice in Spain - you don´t get a free period.

Sure residents are aware of this situation but those non residents stuck outside Spain may not be ...until they turn up for the test. TKS your reply.
