Hi, I have a holiday home and car in Cabo Roig. I'm just checking if anyone can confirm that I can bring my car for inspection to the new iTV Centre in San Javier as I'm in the 'Province of Alicante' and San Javier is in 'Province of Murcia'?! I'm assuming probably I can, but I see on their website that this new centre is for "San Javier, Mar Menor and Murcia"?! I have used iTV in Pilar up to now. Anyone in Cabo Roig any experience of using San Javier iTV v Pilar? Many Thanks

Don't do it.

In theory you can take your car to any ITV centre you wish.

In practice, Valencia have imposed an additional test for noise, so if you have the car registered at an address in the Valencian Community, and have it tested outside the community, then it won't be legal to drive within the Community.

Really! Complicated for sure! Would the Police actually know that my car wasn't tested for noise if I was stopped?!

I'll stick with Pilar then!

Thats very helpful, thanks Jim

The police wouldn't know unless they asked you to show the paper counterpart to the ITV sticker, but in my opinion it's not worth the risk.

Judging by personal observations at Redovan the noise test is a complete and utter waste of time and you'd have to go through pretty much with no exhaust at all to fail.

Jim, That's an interesting  point.i certainly was not aware of it.

tbh, it's a bit useless to have that regulation in The Valencian province whereby it is still legal to drive a vehicle tested in a different Province without that stipulated noise check.

But then again, This Is Spain !
