Welcome to the area! 

We are 2 married guys and dont live here full time yet but have a house just inland from Orihuela Costa, we are here about 3 months of the year and this is what we've found so far...

Generally speaking people are nice if you dont flaunt it in their face, I'm sure you dont need me to tell you to be respectful and mostly everyone will be the same. 

Chandalier bar in La Finca is run by 2 guys, there is also Les Planches on Torrevieja marina, Jax bar, Phoenix dance club iand Zoo disco pub in Torrevieja, OMD (Boys) pub La Mata.  There is a bar in the square in Dolores which is quite mixed and also up Avenida de Los Palacios near Rojales, Mokai club, Benecal club and the Queens bar is worth a look.

Jessies Bar in Los Balcones opposite the mercadona is run by 2 women (married couple) absolutely lovely. Small and friendly bar, me and my gf frequent it alot and it is also frequented by other gay couples, although it is not labelled a 'gay' bar exclusively.  We feel very safe in there. You will definitely make new friends.

Patricia pop into Jessie's Bar in Los Balcones, its less than 10 mims drive from San Miguel opposite the Mercadona o  the CV-95. So friendly, small bar. You'll definitely make new friends. 

We are not in Spain now for a while due to Covid, but when we are next there we are happy to meet up for a coffee/beer
