Hello All,

Visiting Cabo Roig area for 5 weeks Jan/Feb 2024. Irish couple, early 60's, fairly fit. Golfers, Tennis players, walkers. Love to meet people, eat and have a few sherbets. We've seen a lot of Andalucia and looking forward to exploring this part of Spain. Any tips, do's and don'ts, things not to miss, things to definitely miss, etc., would be terrific to hear. Is there a must-not-miss Irish bar? :-) All input gratefully received. P&R.

Look  up  The  Emerald  Isle,  Try McCoy in Playa Flamenca,   All  along the  Strip  on  Coba  Roig   good  selection of  Irish  pubs, and Restaurants , it  will be  fairly  quiet  this  time of year,   after Xmas,  You  should  try a visit  St Patrick week,   fabulous   atmosphere  if weather is good,

Enjoy your holiday

I  am  out  there  January 4th   on  a 1 way  ticket 🎟,  I  am  driving  over  bring  some Construction tools  with me  and a Wee Dog  as  bought  a  small  Apartment  this year and  doing  some work on  it,  If  you wish  to meet  up I  will  gladly give some  idea  about  Torrevieja,

I  have  never spent  a winter  out there  but a lot  of  our  age I  am a Pensioners   early  next year,   I  am single  love  walk  swimming 🏊‍♀️  Sports  but  14  years of  the Beer 🍺,   No  interest  in Golf,

If   you wish  to explore  Coba Roig  and around  Torrevieja  area  you will  need  Transport,  as

January  February  are know  as  wet   season  out there , but  if  looking  for  base out there  a  car is  a  must,  if  you  are use to a  Car  in Munster, you will be  lost,  There  is a  lot of Irish  English  Scots  and European  around  Torrevieja  area,

I  am based  in Wexford  area ,   if  I  can  he in  any  way  just ask,

  Phil

Thanks SligoGent. Sorry for delay in acknowledgement, unavoidable. We'll definitely have a look into those spots. We usually head to Canaries around Paddy's day but perhaps after this trip we'll know better! Thanks again.

Hi Phil,

First, thanks so much for the information and sorry for the late reply. We have a small car booked and we really like getting out to see things, so it will be fun to explore the area. It's very exciting for you, going out on a 1 way ticket and fair dues on fixing up your own place. Great to have the skills! I'm sure Torrevieja will be on our itinerary but not quite sure when exactly. We'll play it by ear. Wishing your every success on your move and once thanks again for the help!
