Make sure you have good ventilation. I am a heating engineer in th UK. Flueless gas fires produce water vapour and the catalytic converters in them have a reputed 10 years lifespan. I have replaced them around 5 years.

We use a Spanish, registered gas engineer who is well aware of the maintenance and ventilation requirements, but thanks for your post.

Thank you very much for your reply.  The gas central heating sounds very efficient.  I must find out if there is a natural gas supply in our area.  Thans again.
