A few queries about Health care in Spain, I am still contemplating moving to Spain, But like to have all my answers and not go looking for them,

I will be 64 when I move to Spain, got a few health issues, and then to look after myself, frequent check ups, and visit Doctors when need arises, no second guessing

I will coming from Republic of Ireland so classed as EU citizen, I am use to paying for medicine and Doctors visit that's the normal way over here.

My concern are if in unfortunately circumstances, i need in Hospital care with existing medical problems or hopefully not but other medical problems that my occurs. What way does Medical care operate as in patients, I will bring 6 months travel insurance, as will be renting before I purchase as it the number 1 bit of advice that everyone hands out, as i find this forum very helpful

Hi Sligogent

Even though you are “classed as an EU citizen”, you are only legally allowed to be in Spain for 90 days, unless you apply for residency.

I would be mindful that any travel insurance, should you stay beyond what is legally allowed, would become null and void 🤪🥂
