My doctor has put me through lots of tests and all been negative, good news! Trouble is although i suffer same symptons i now have more problems and pain and feel the past tests were not picking up my problem. I believe my ailments were the start of a different issue maybe an ulcer or pancreas problem. I do jot have respect for this doctor who never asks questions and forgets to put items on prescription and so on. She is incompetent and has akways been indifferent to my health issues. I cant3afford to private. I have had insist i see her again.

You're entitled to request a transfer to another doctor, or even to a different centro de salud.

She speaks fairly good, hard to understand sometimes, English. My spanish is limited, i try and say what i can in Spanish and always apologise. She has sent me for many tests assuming it's an IBD maybe problem then almost shrugs and says they don't know whist the matter us, referring to tests. Leaves it at that like go away nothing can do! Never gives advice relies entirely on tests never feels glands or any kind of interaction. She makes be feel like I'm a hypochondriac. I'm fairly intelligent and now try to self manage hut concerned there is an underlying cause which could turn serious. I struggled to get an app. She phoned back today and was a bit offhandish with 'your results were normal" i said I have pain now and have to see you!, still not happy so i said l'll have to see another doctor then ! Her response was do you want to change your doctor!  I would rather see her as at least she knows me and my history! Frustrated.

Thank you. I don't think she's rushed particularly she often forget to put things on prescription and the only advice she's ever given me is take multivitamins. She likes my husband aged 73 so not biased although his spanish is better than mine! I've had so much cystitis along with my problem that now he just goes and gets me the antibiotics from chemist but they have said no mire as i get it too often and need treatment from my doctor ! I told doctor this over the phone when she rang back and then she gave me the appointment for next week.  We'll see I'm just fed up

Would it be possible to take a translator with you? It might help to get things sorted once and for all.

I think I know which Doctor you are referring to, nothing personal she's like this with everyone. When things have settled down I'm going to request a change from this Doctor. If a few more of us did this it may send a message to the director of the centre, I can but hope.

I have and lived here for 7 years and have had foot operations at Torrevieja hospital all excellent treatment. It's just my doctors attitude as though if general  tests are normal then fine end of. Thank you for your help.

I'm sorry you do not understand my concerns! The doctor fully understands me and has treated me for 7 yrs. She has no problem in understanding.  You read a post that i was responding to so quite correct it would not make sense to you, as you came in half way through. But thanks anyway.

Hi Sandie123

I’m sure RayD understands your concerns. Perhaps if you proof read your posts before pressing reply? I’m not wishing to be unkind but they do need a couple or three readings to try to understand what you’re meaning

I do hope you are able to get the assistance you need🤪🥂

Hi Sandie,

Our doctor is also Carolina. The general opinion of my neighbours are that she is lovely. However, we have been here almost 5 years, and obtained full residents SIP cards before registering at Cabo Roig. I agree that her English is limited so if I had anything that worried me I would take a translator with me. Strangely enough, like your experience, she has always been more responsive with my husband. What has always surprised me is that although my prescriptions include blood pressure medication, my blood pressure has never been taken here in 5 years. I think that they just have a very different approach here compared to the U.K, where any visit to the quacks, results in BP checks and stethoscopes! The doctors do not appear to do much hands on, I think the nurses do most of that. It saves doctors time I suppose. I check my own BP so it’s not a problem. I would suggest you try taking a good translator with you next time so you will be able to judge her responses fairly. I sincerely hope you get your problem sorted soon, and whatever happens don’t give up. You are fully entitled to good healthcare. Good luck. 🤗
