The latest in the UK is that vaccine could be available in September if current trials go as expected.

Nicola, agree, Until everyone is sure & safety first, there is a high probability of at least one occurrence,& now those "experts" are number-crunching, of how likely an event is to occur or how likely it is that a proposition is true.

This is only four weeks in. lockdown-wise, and infection rate possibly a lot longer. Any "spike" or "plateau" will therefore have to follow it´s downward trend quite substantially before relaxing (even partially) the state of alarm. 1st possibly allowing distancing in public for exercise....

Looks like the disese has peaked in Spain - 280 deaths today (may be holiday blip) but this is the lowest since 21 March. It has been falling for the last 10 days (generally) from a high of 961 on 2 April. I do though think that Spain will need to consider what happens elsewhere as other countries lift their restrictions - she probably has more to loose than most other European countries since there is usually a huge movement of foreigners in the summer months and hence a bigger risk of a new peak in the disease. I love my regular visits to Orihuela Costa but would rather pray that Spain is delivered from this present darkness.

Ray I'd like to think that come September the lockdown will be pretty much relaxed in the UK so live testing will be possible. In the double blind tials before it can be prescribed the test will be to see if those given the vaccine develop antibodies to the disease. I suspect that those who do develop antibodies will then be exposed to live disease. We shold all pray that the vaccine is developed quickly and is effective otherwise there could be death on a scale we have not yet witnessed when it gets to the highly poulated areas of the 'less developed world'.

Hey we all have opinions but some should be kept to ones selves.

will or won't they resume to some kind of normality? Who knows.

we (ex pats) don't know enough to make any type of comment. We simply don't get enough information from the Spanish government and or the council,we only rely on radio, papers,tv and translations non of which are reliable.

The conclusion being we unfortunately have to sit it out and hope when it is over we get the correct  info so we,the Spanish,French and other northern Europeans are all reading from the same page.

opinions are just that,OPINIONS!

Rubbish! It's like getting blood from a stone, all this that you've quoted is paper talk, not real time info from local government but you have answered my thoughts, all the info is in Spanish for the Spanish although I speak Spanish I don't completely understand the very technical terms. I'm afraid you're on a merry dance!

Really???? I can't believe I've just read that! We are in Spain, the language is Spanish. Sometimes 2+2 does equal 4.
