I  really liked this forum and joined it only just a year ago for the help it provided to residents and to newbies who needed help in getting to grips with LIVING IN SPAIN

However I am now considering leaving it due to the fact it has now become a     slagging Match area for unrelated issues that would be better aired on a more      national forum

I look forward to a reply from the forum management in relation to my comments and to know if they have any intentions of bringing it back to what is was originally all about

Bear in mind that the number of typical posts along the lines of 'how can I do...', 'where can I go...', 'what is the procedure...', etc, have dropped considerably because of the lockdown, and that, after some sense of normality returns, then there will be an upsurge of these.

Also bear in mind that a lot of people are feeling a sense of isolation, and perhaps find it helpful to 'chat' with others on the forum, even if that is just exchanging points of view.

There's no harm in that - just wait, and the forum traffic will return to a semblance of normality.

Please stay with the forum - give it a chance. If you liked it before, then I'm sure you'll also like it after.

In between? Well, personally, I find that I'm spending a lot less time answering PMs or questions on the forum. There have been two results from this. I've finally had time to drain the pool and start clearing mud from it, after stripping and repairing the pump, and I've also had time to finally start preparing updates to all my guides.

Mind you, I look forward to being able to go out sometime to get a real café solo, and my DIY shopping list is getting steadily longer.

I read the comments posted to your concerns & can add little, except that with regard this forum works for most. The admin have made it easy for any forum poster, be their interested in buying/selling, general comments, & ongoing threads, be one interested in "Donald Trump", "Brexit", "covid-19" or how to make the best "baked potato" (just for eg:), updated news stories & general chat, insight of other´s opinions together with amusement. We are typing on "Donald Trump" thread at the moment. It was mine & yours choice to read it.

 For me, it gives me, besides information, interaction with other´s. No one forces anyone to read it, comment on it, or agree with anyone. I do agree that "slanging matches" occur. I do not see personal attacks beneficial, but the forum benefits outweighs by passing ideas. This has helped me many times & I hope have helped others. I hope you enjoy to continue.

I couldn't have put it better than Jim above. Please stick with it, once lockdown passes there will be lots of new information that members will be sharing about everything going on and how to live in Spain etc
