Covid vaccination
Has anyone living in Castalla had or been offered their first vaccine yet, my parents still haven’t heard anything, they are in late 60’s & early 70’s. Thank you.

Super helpful member
I think you will find the areas are working through the 70-79 group at present, my husband had his first Pfizer vaccination on Friday and he is 74 years old, so it would appear they are working down the group, the next group will be the 60-69s dont know which way they will work through the group though.

...though.
Thank you so much, having been worrying about them & not being able to go there to help them is so hard. Hopefully they won’t be waiting much longer.

Hi Please make sure ALL your details are updated. Landline and mobile, we had friends in Sax that thought their details were, but the Doctors had phoned them twice on the landline and couldn’t get hold of them !! We on the other hand just had a txt on our mobiles. I’m sure you will hear soon 🙏🤞

Hi there, We live in Castalla and my husband who is 63 had the vaccine 2 weeks ago. They’re giving different ones to different age groups and notifying people in different ways. A couple of weeks ago Spain decided not to vaccinate 65-79 with the Astra Zeneca so that age group would get a phone call from the health centre for the Pfizer vaccine. People aged 55-65 would get a text message to go to Alcoy sports centre for the AZ. However, Spain has now changed it again and only OVER 60’s will get the AZ. The most important thing is to get them to check the health centre has all their correct details, Sip card and most recent phone number. Also do they have a medical translator? There is a very helpful person in Castalla who does ours and receives the phone calls and texts on our behalf and deals with them. I speak fairly good Spanish but still feel a medical translator is essential. I know of several people around early 70’s who were called for their vaccine this week so hopefully they won’t be long.
