Thinking of moving to Castella

Are you EU/EEA or UK passport holders? This will determine whether or not you require a visa in order to move to Spain permanently.

We are UK passport holders and would be on a non-lucrative visa. We have already investigated all the legal implications and recognise there are local peculiarities depending on where we decide to reside. At present we are in the early stages of determining the region's we are interested in.

That's good you are aware of the requirements of the NLV route and that application must be made to the Spanish Consulate in the UK.  Idealista is a website that holds details of most properties for sale in all areas and not just those by Estate Agencies. Unfortunately not, I'm in Benidorm and from Northern Ireland.

A couple of websites that may be of help before you make the leap are:

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for bureaucratic stuff, and

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   This website, and their Facebook page, is for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.

You are looking for accommodation. Hotels.com, trivago and booking.com show guest Houses. If you prefer to go self-catering then try Vrbo.com and Holidaylettings.co.uk as they verify the rental licenses before accepting the ad.
