Hi all. Sorry folks please bear with me I will get to the point.  I'm a little worried about nipping to the supermarkets as I've been told if I go out I need my passport, nie and residencia. I have been here since December and have my Padron but haven't done my residencia yet as my husband and son were still living in the UK and didn't come out to join me until End of Feb. My husband has his NIE but no Padron as yet as we were taking him and my son for padron at the same time but due to current circumstances my sons NIE appointment was cancelled.  I have a long term rental contract. Would a copy of this be adequate to prove I live here. Thank you

You should be fine with just your passport, but I'd take the rental contract just in case. If stopped the police are mainly interested in why you're out and about, just have your empty (or full) shopping bags ready to show them.

My heart goes out to you.  Hope nobody on here will say otherwise.  You find you and your family in a scary enough health crisis.

We all could have, would have, should have at some point.  Unless for the Saints among us.

As only one person into shop at one time.  One person go with whatever identification you have.

Perhaps others who have been asked for their residents card each time they go to the shop will answer.

Just stay safe and look after yourselves without undue worry.

Kind Regards

Maria xx

"I've been told if I go out I need my passport, nie and residencia"

Where do people come up with this drivel?

Passport fair enough as everybody is supposed to carry photographic ID but the rest is on it's face utter nonsense as it implies that only residents can go to the shops leaving others to do what, starve to death?

Kindness to people who are concerned goes a long way. You may recall sharing some drivel yourself a few weeks ago re what you termed the Coronavirus hysteria.

Only one person can go out at a time, just asking for your passport if you get stopped, I haven't heard about police asking for anything else, just stick to supermarkets, chemists and keep receipts.
