Hi Margaret

Please dont think I am going mad, but have you tried toothpaste?! It really does work! You dont need expensive products or to pay anyone.

For car detailing I use Meguires products and professional polishing equipment, but when it comes to headlights... I always use toothpaste!

YouTube has lots of advice on this, for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXHTXdlWw1w

Please note, do not do this in direct sunlight or when your headlights have been in the sun and are hot (the same principle as for polishing a car)

Hope it helps

(Perhaps send some before and after photos, for the non believers, if you get round to doing it?!!)

The wax is just a protective layer to reduce the problem re-occurring. I typically use a carnauba wax, which I also use on the bodywork, however, you are just looking to put a protective layer back on to the perspex/glass. You could even use a regular car polish but this will need reapplication after every couple of washes.

Hope it helps

Short term toothpaste and polish is ok....if it works but you will have to do regular.

Go and see Pedro at his garage in catral opposite the recycling depot on the industrial estate and he will refurbish them, and re paint them with a special product and don’t matter how faded they are you will think they are new ones! Will last for years and I think they are about25 euros a light to do! He’s a very good honest Mechinic as well and does the police cars and the town halls vehicles amongst others!

Good luck and regards BB

I used household chrome cleaner, it lasts 3 or 4 years.  Takes about 5 minutes each lamp.  Save money and do it yourself!
