Hi Kerry

So sorry to bother you again as I'm sure you're pretty busy trying to settle In your new home.  I also appreciate your post was just a guide to help others along.  But, can you help if you can please lol.

I really didn't understand the 790-052 part at all.  I clicked on the spanish consular in London (as that's closet to us) but I couldn't make head or tail of that part of it.  It's spanish and was asking me to click on province etc.  Just really didn't understand at all.

I've since emailed them but an automated email came back saying all answers are on their website.  And it said you couldn't phone or email for an appointment.  Soooo was just wondering if you could help direct me as to how I might get to speak to someone.

Thank you so much.

Kind regards

Jo

HI Jo, hopefully Kerry will respond but the in the meantime I have dragged out all my visa paperwork which I completed for our application.

The 790 052 is down loadable from the website. I printed 2 copies per person. I filled in one with my Spanish address at the top. I also had a blank copy with me in case. I messed up the address a bit but it was OK. My province was Murcia.  There is a space for your NIE number. There is very little to fill in on the form. Under section 1. I ticked c) for residencia temporal as this is the right box for the NLV. Leave sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 blank.

Then in the signature box next to En put your place of signing, mine was Suffolk UK. Then sign and date (firma).

On the second page it's just the address details again and signing etc.

I hope that helps a little.

Best wishes

Diane

Hi Jo

I meant to say we used the London embassy. They will not take phone calls or respond to emails. They just say its all on the website. Not helpful when you just need some clarification.

Good luck and happy to help if I can.

Hi Diane

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.  I've spent pretty much all day on this and my head is sore lol.  I'll go back to it tomorrow with a fresh head and hopefully understand it more.

My geography is shocking and when I looked at the map provided, it didn't list regions.  We are going to catral so not sure what to click.

But I'll try again tomorrow with a clearer head.

Thanks Diane.

Kind regards

Jo

Diane, how did you make the appointment? I cannot see anything on the site to do this.

Sorry, definitely have brain ache lol.

Hi Jo

that’s the bit we struggled with as we didn’t have an NIE number to be able to save the document and make the payment. I emailed the Manchester consulate and explained the problem and they said to just print a screenshot. We filled the online form out and then printed it without saving it and took cash to the consulate but the man that dealt with us just said don’t worry I will do that for you and we had to pay by card payment as he didn’t want cash (since covid). I feel your pain as that bit was really stressing me out but our guy at the consulate was so chilled and sorted it. I’ve no idea if London are as helpful. I know some of the process has changed since we did ours in June so it would be nice to hear from someone who has been recently how they paid. Good luck

Hi Jo

I just went on the site for the form and if you use google chrome it automatically translates some of it. If you click the 2nd of the 2 options and then a map comes up. Catral comes under Alicante so click on the region that is the 6th one down on the right I think. It will come up as Alicante if you hit the correct one. This then takes you to the form. We then filled out the bits about our names etc and selected option 2.1 (I think). Without an NIE number it wouldn’t allow me to save it and print so I just printed a screenshot. Hope that makes sense. We didn’t need it as like I said the guy on the counter did it for us. 😉

Thank you Kerry.  I really appreciate your invaluable advice 😊

I feel kind of OK about everything now, albeit stressing. But, I'll get there.  Hopefully someone in London will be as chilled, once I then work out how to book an appointment lol.

I remember well how stressful it was 😱😱, now we have the stress of just having put a deposit on a villa and the pound/euro exchange means it’s costing us loads more 😩😩. But it’s all worth it 👌😎. Good luck

Hi Jo,

There are instructions on the site on how to book the appointment. From memory you can't book an appointment without your ACRO (criminal record check) as you have to send it with the request for an appointment.

Sorry I can't recall more than that at the mo.

Best wishes

Diane
