Yes, you can avoid paying a Solicitor for what is a relatively simple task. Check out Jim Taylor's Guides to Living in Spain by clicking on the Announcements Tab on the forum Homepage. When we were Non Residents we used an English based company, Spanish Tax Forms Ltd (  https://spanishtaxforms.co.uk/ ) who completed the Forms for us, they send them to you by email, print them off and take them to your Bank to pay the Tax, the company charged around 30-35€, the following year we used the old forms as a basis for doing it ourselves.

We pay 60€ per annum to our solicitor. For that he.

Calculates and submits the tax form

Pays it on my behalf and DD's me.

Manages and pays my SUMA and bills me.

For 60e, it's easier to just pay him as we are non resi. Personal preference though.

Why pay a Solicitor to pay your Suma, paying by Direct Debit is automatic, without additional fees and painless.

Because I would still have to mess around filling in forms  and going into the bank to sort my tax out. My nearest Branch in Torrevieja, not worth the hassle.
