Having spent hundreds of pounds at Easter when held to ransom at the Folkestone border for the Day2 & 8 package I was told you can’t use NHS tests for travel purposes.
Fair enough I thought it’s my choice to travel but I still felt the charges were extortionate.
My latest experience has left me so seething and angry that I felt I must share this here.
This is my letter of complaint to Matt Hancock’s DoH complaints dept.
‘ It is with regret that I must inform that the supplier of the kits RT Diagnostics has failed to deliver as guaranteed.
A) to provide the kits on or soon after day 2 on arrival in the UKAndB)Failed to supply a result within 48 hours of receiving a day 2 test specimen. As the invoice evidences below they have not only failed their own guarantee but those set out in the Home Office supply contract. As a result under the Sales of Goods Act they have failed to deliver ‘invitation to treat’ .I therefore require a full refund of £168.00’To bring you up to date since I wrote this, today is exactly a week since I returned from Spain and still no day 2 test result , tomorrow I’m due to take Test day 8. Why bother!?I voiced my complaint when the government test and trace rang , which they do every day. Their response left me fuming! It was “get tested at your local nhs testing centre!” In other words do what I tried to do at Easter but was told by UK border you cannot use NHS testing for travel purposes.I have looked carefully at the company background to RT Diagnostics and their numerous other trading names. The directors have some dubious credentials including leading Brexiteers and one stands as a candidate for UK Reform Party.I hate being scammed even more so by my government that is supposed to protect my well-being and interests.I suggest avoid at all costs using RT Diagnostics, ReCova-19 and all their other aliases.I’m going to start putting together a dossier on this growing scandal and go to a trusted media outlet with my findings. If you have any similar experiences please share.David
