Hi guys thank you for your input just wanting to get a general idea

If I came over before end of December could i get my NIE before the rules come in

You will need far more than an NIE to gain residency. There is requirements to prove income and healthcare. You will need a Spanish bank account, rental agreement and a padron certificate.

Just by having an NIE doesn't give you any rights at all

Hi, just to add my 10c worth. We got our res in June (after lockdown lifted), they said we needed 9000 each in the bank, and min income of 750 each (income, pension, etc). We’re living nicely off that and saving a bit. Your solicitor should be able to help but you need to be here at least 3 months (using local debit card to prove it) to apply. btw, NIE doesn’t take too long but allow about a month-ish
