Thanks for that Sarah, I'll have to look into that. Sounds great especially that it comes assembled 😁

Hi, I agree with all the previous suggestions. Hnos Garcia have 3 very large showrooms in Torrevieja all within a mile of one another. They are excellent for furniture and all accessories, the displays are cleverly arranged and give you lots of ideas for your home. They also deliver FOC.
Luzete are great for all lights, lamps etc and they have a showroom next to Hnos Garcia just past the large Carrefour in Torrevieja
I personally like El Corte Ingles for white goods, televisions etc. They are the “John Lewis” in Spain. Their prices are brilliant in the sales, I order everything online and delivery, installation and removal of old items comes free. And like John Lewis their guarantees and customer service are great https://www.elcorteingles.com/.
Have fun shopping and furnishing your new home 😀

Super helpful member
The best advice I can give you is to slow down!
Sit down and decide what you both like. Colours ,styles etc.,
Once you have bought your crockery and cutlery you may decide within a short time that you could have got nicer and unless you want to be extravagant and replace, slow down.
Buy a few things to tide you over.
Find a good electric shop, check out everything on sale and ask if they give discount....make an agreement that you will buy your kettle, toaster, tv , lamps etc.,but explain that you will require the tv to be installed / put onto the wall for you.
We go to a shop on the Avenue de Valencia, Torrevieja....the other side of town from you. Used to be called RED DER but may now be called something different. I get discount on every item I buy ( name/ address on computer) beside Mercadona. Shop stocks cookers, microwaves, washing machines, everything.
Buy good saucepans...not cheap but top quality, they will last for years....you will also need a good frying pan...not Ikea, it will be ready for the bin in a few years time.
I brought my beakers out from M&S. Their cutlery is superb too.
Bedding/ linens....Zara Home...class.
Mattress protectors...Lemon tree market at the entrance. Brilliant and only a few euro
Lamps...Ikea ideal for bedrooms.
Light fittings...La Hoya........
Has another name, past Carrefour on your left at roundabout....fabulous shop.
Buy a SMART TV....NOTHING ELSE. VITAL FOR TIMES WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD...WIFI PROVIDES NETFLIX.
Towels.....
Bath sheets....Carrefour or M&S in suitcase. Soft and great quality.
Bring J cloths with you....not easy to find locally but available in Iceland.
Bring an Electric blanket for winter visits.
Pillows...ZARA HOME. OFTEN HAVE FLASH SALES.
Beds in Spain...double and single are the same length as our King Size, they also do the 6’3” as well as the 6’6”” but buy the longer beds.
Hon Garcia....great furniture
Outdoor furniture/Ratten...
Go to Los Montesinos, after 30kpm sign you will see the shop on your right. Stunning show of garden furniture. They also have shops/ showrooms in Quesada. Cannot remember their name but we bought our outdoor table and chairs there and are delighted with them.
I could go on forever.
I made so many rash purchases initially so I mean it when I tell you to take your time.
Good luck and best wishes,
Grannyrose.
Light fittings...huge shop at roundabout past Carrefour....LEDs are modern and lovely.
