Hi both and welcome to Catral.

We've tried most repellents but these two work for us -

The Giobi Extreme I buy online at privafarma.com and is sometimes up to half the price of local Pharmacies.

Halley is more expensive but a bigger bottle but doesn't have the long lasting effect of the Giobi.

You get Mosi's most places in Spain, Catral just seems to have a few more!!

Welcome again to your new home.

Pete

Hi, we are Jo and Glen, we arrived last Friday ,after getting the ferry from Plymouth,  with our little dog to start our new life in Catral!! We’ve had our home here for 4 years, but just for holidays.
The mozzies drive me mad, but I’ve found a really good spray after trying everything on the market. It’s called Kill Paff. They sell it in the Makeup etc shop opposite Venicia restaurant.

Hope this helps and hope you settle in fast. Xx

We have a routine now regarding mozzies - first thing we did was install mosquito nets, helps a bit but they still get in, also keeps flies at bay.

On patio we burn citrus all around and under table etc. we wipe our exposed areas with mozzie repellent (wipes you can get in most supermarkets).

Before retiring for the nights, spray all rooms 30 mins beforehand, AC on and later if AC is too cold we keep the overhead fan on all night.

So far only one bite and that me walking around the garden early morning in my nightie.

It seems to work for us.

Oh we also buy the after bite stick from the chemist - stings like hell if you've broken the skin, but stops me constantly scratching.

Cheers

If they (ie. mossies) they got you!

If bitten, apply amoniaco:

The topical application of ammonia can be effective to relieve discomfort (the immediate after a  mosquito sting would be to use a base that neutralizes or destroys the acid of the toxin).

As on other threads. & (other posts)
