I am told that the first thing to do is to make sure there is no stagnant water anywhere as mossies thrive in it. Next, plant some wild lavander which also keeps cats away.

I don’t know if this tip works in Spain but it works very well for me here. I have planted some lovely plants in tall planter pots at our caravan on the coast.  I half filled the pots with sand and topped it up with compost and planted. My plants are thriving and often left unwatered for a week or so plus it hasn’t been raining for ages. I think it would work well in Spain as the sand hold ms the water and the plants will suck it up and remain in great shape.

Lidl always sold mosquito products. The cream for bites is superb and we buy it in bulk if available. Yellow tubes.

I had one of these in Cyprus, and it works a treat. I will be moving to Spain soon and will buy another.

I still get bit , when you sit on balcony at night that's when you need full weaponry, lol

Fly spray bedroom 30 mins before you go to bed.

Fly spray under out-door tables & chairs, they love to wait for your bare legs its easy pickings for them.

A tip i picked-up in Thailand was to use Savlon on bites, works wonders.

If all else fails, get a pet gecko they love eating mozzies

Also, bats are a good thing to have in the garden they love mozzies too

We use plugins from Mercadona plus the coils that you light up for when we’re outside. As for sprays we use Agua Colonia de Fresca from the children’s section in Mercadona. It’s so cheap and for us it works better than any other stuff we’ve used and safer too as it’s for children. May sound strange but it works!

Hi,

for indoors protection use netting and don't forget a single panel open even for a few seconds, they seem to be waiting for you to do it and they wIll come in, they seem to know!

For outdoors it varies from person to person, some get left almost alone some next to them get devoured, repellents work more or less but one thing we found out that works a treat is the old, not very practical, not fashionable but very effective spiral burner, they are very cheap, sold almost everywhere (we buy ours at the local Mercadona) and do the job inside and outside even in breezy conditions, just put a few around the area where you are, I used them over 40 years ago in my past life in the military and they are as efficient today as they were then, all else is hit and miss. Enjoy your new life! :)

Apparently, blood-type 'O' people attract them more than most..
