Cumbre strays

Further to my previous post I now know about the Cumbre Cats Control Campaign and the wonderful work they do with feeding and capture neuter release. This is amazing and I had no idea except to say on my last visit the cats seemed calmer and more tolerated. I wish I had known about them before.
On reading their blogs many of these cats are being run over and killed by heartless drivers. I just cannot imagine how anyone can run an animal over and not stop.
I think there should be speed limits on the Cumbre and running an animal over and leaving it to die should be a punishable offence. Maybe some road signs making drivers aware of the cats.
These people are doing a wonderful job and I will be helping when I’m back later in the year.
