Hi

It is not opinions that are required it is hard facts on the way forward as opinions do not stand up in court without facts

Sorry if you think I am  being too direct but that is the way I am . You h@ve to follow the laws in place at the time

Peter R. I stand corrected. Please confirm which court these facts have to stand up in. If we only followed the facts on this forum it would be empty of comments. The facts are that a number of news outlets have published comments on a an opinion (clearly from an acknowledged source) that there is a proposal to place the USA and Spain on the red list. As far as I am aware there has been no denial from the UK government on this comment. The comments were based on the premise that the US and Spain have former dependencies, like Portugal, who are already on the red list, which are exposed to strains of the Covid19 which are proving more virulent than the one currently circulating in Europe. The law, in my opinion, in the circumstances in which government's find themselves at present, is fluid. To the best of my knowledge we have never had in place a law to suspend the rights of citizens to freedom of movement outwith a war. I agree that unsubstantiated reports could cause confusion in the population and it would be encumbent upon the government to quash those reports if untrue. However no denial has been forthcoming.
