Car matriculation Portugal to Spain

I own an18 month old fully tax paid Portuguese  car, which I need to transfer to Spanish plates.

Almost every Website which I have been on gives different and sometimes conflicting advice .

Our Solicitor has quoted around 6000€ , another website I checked says you can claim an import tax exemption if done within 30 days of bringing the car in country ( I will be transferring Portugal to Spain residency) can anyone point me in the right direction.

I recommend you speak to Leigh at Spanish Number Plates:

I don´t know whether he covers Costa Blanca North, but as time is of the essence, I think you need to speak to a specialist as soon as possible.  Without a breakdown of the €6,000 quoted by your lawyer, it may be that a lot of his quote is taken up by his more expensive hourly rate.
