I own a home in costa Blanca . I brought a car from my home country that I use for shopping , leisures in the surroundings .

I am considered as a non resident as I do not spend over 183 days /year in Spain. My when I leave Spain my car remains in my garage.Question :

Do I have to change to Spanish plates in this case ?knowing that at sometimes I may use it to go back home?

Thank you

Yes you do have to register the car here.

If you spend more than 90 consecutive days here, or intend to at the start of your visit then you too should register here.

Is your car fully legal in your home country? If from the UK, taxed MOT'd and insured? Does your insurer know that it is out of the country?

Same (EU) rules, French residents are not permitted to drive foreign registered cars.
