Dear All ,

I heard that the company supplying electricity ( Iberdrola) has different tarifs .

Can anyone advise how I can benefit from the lowest tarifs to manage my electricity bills ?

I went to see Iberdrola and requested a low tarif , but till now my electricity bills have not changed .With only pool filtration system running in winter when I am not here , my bills are average 70-75€ /month .

I would appreciate advise from people who faced similar situations .

Thank you all and keep safe ,

If you could post a picture of a bill there are forum members who will be able to tell you exactly what the problem is. You may be on a high potencia ( the level of supply ), or be paying insurances that you don't need, or simply be on the standard tariff with no cheap rate hours. Make sure you blank out name, address etc.

You need to register as a client on their website, then you can access your account online, see what's available and set your tariff accordingly.

I'm on one where you can select any 8 hours every day (e.g. 0800 to 1200 and 1600 to 2000) where the tariff is much lower than standard. Then use appliances like washing machine and your pool pump within the low cost hours you've selected.

I have to say, though, that 75e a month isn't bad. Mine is typically 90e a month for a three bed villa with pool, but we live here full time. It's not like the UK, half the bill is made up of standing charges and taxes which you can't avoid.

Yes, but the 70 odd euros pcm is when he’s not here!!!! No, that’s not bad if one is living here, we have an all electric house, no gas at all, heat pump for hot water and our bills are usually between 70 and 80 pcm, more if we are running heating. And yes, we use everything that everybody does!!!

The cheapest tariff is what they call the PVPC with Plan Noche, the prices vary day to day and are published every day on the internet and are regulated by the Government

To give you an idea, off peak I have been paying about 3 to 4 cents per kwH, peak around 8 cents per kwH.

This is with Iberdrola.
