As always, it depends:
- temperature (inside and outside)
- how long the unit runs (per day/week/month)
- type of unit (split/monobloc)
- power level set on the unit
As an example of one of our units (Fujitsu 3500 split):
lowest level => 500W consumption
mid level => 1000W consumption
at 12h running time per day, this is 6kWh (currently about 1,80€) per day (about 50€/month) at the lowest level.
We use it to cool several rooms, as the air conditioner in the hallway is at the highest point in the house.

Depends on what type of heat pump. We have two enormous outside heat pumps, we have no gas. One does the hot water and the other runs the under floor heating in the winter. Our electricity bills are very acceptable, especially considering that we don’t have to mess about with gas bottles etc.
However, I realise that you may not mean this type of heat pump, as it seems to be a generic term like Hoover! If you mean the a/c heat pumps, we don’t use them, finding fans quite adequate.

Some heat pumps function on air air principle they are used for heating and cooling
Some even use solar power and are very economical as far as electrical consumption is concerned

Ours are both air to water. In principle, the underfloor can be switched to cooling for the summer, but not in this area due to humidity.
Ours run on mains electricity, the cost of solar installation retrospectively we feel cannot financially be justified.
If you want figures, I can pm you with our costs etc but I imagine you are only interested in the interior air con type?
I need to address hearing and cooling
