Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some reputable estate agents in the area (and any to avoid) ? Also is it better to stick with one agent or use a few?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Hello, we bought our apartment through Randof and were extremly satisfied with their service. They even supported us for the renovation of the apartment.

I assume you're buying not selling Mimi? You won't go wrong with HomeEspana. Good solid company.
I'm not certain it's the case with HomeEspana but in Spain it's very common for agents to share commission. For example if Agent 1 can't meet your criteria and see a property listed at Agent 2 that suits you, they will introduce you and share the commission.
On balance I think it's better to spread your search across different Agents. They will all be happy to show you properties.
Before you start, search the internet for properties you like, using agents sites, Kyero and Idealista. Then google map any property that you like, in order to check if that area is really where you want to be.
After visiting a property with an Agent, if you liked the property go back at different times of day to see where the sun and shadow falls. Walk around a bit and see what's nearby.
Also, beware! If you pay an agent a "holding fee", often 3000, be aware you maybe never see that money again if you pull out later due to something the solicitor tells you about.
Deposits should always be made to a solicitor (Abogado).
If you don't know Denia well, feel free to ask me about locations you're considering.

I take your point but there are some good agents. And fewer cowboys up here too.

Hi Steve,
I was surprised by your recommendation of HomeEspania as my experience of them was less than impressive. They got us into the office with a picture of a property in the window that we liked. Low and behold it had just been sold, but "luckily" they had a great property almost the same. It was a supposedly a refurbished home but it was awful, I could have made a better job than whoever had done the work. As they used to say, we made our excuses and left.
That was a few years ago in Los Dolses. Anyhow, out of interest, I googled the LD office and they have a 5 star rating, from 40 reviews. Reviews look too good to be true to be honest but perhaps they have changed,
I presume you have experience of the Denia office otherwise you would not have recommended them..

It was based on the recommendation of two friends who had successfully bought through the Denia branch.
