Hi I’m looking for someone who can contact a few state secondary schools for me to find out the process for enrolling my son for September 2024.  We are moving to Denia next summer but I have no idea what the process is. I would be so grateful for any help with this as I’m a bit lost! Thanks

Hello

You dont need this information until you are ready to move here,. When you have decided which school you are going to hopefully, register with, you can phone them and ask about the  registration  process.

Personal details  will be required that  only you can answer,   its not something someone else can do for you.

I would say, most people on the forum dont have school age children being closer to retirement age or holiday home owners so not residents.

Cheers

Hi Angeljar,
I put my two daughters through State school here in Denia, from primary school to 6th form. In case you are not aware, I  thought I might warn you that the State schools in Denia do not teach in Spanish, despite what you might read. Your son will be expected to learn in Valencian. When I arrived I had assumed that education would be in Spanish and it was a rude and stressful awakening for all of us. My girls stuck it out, supported each other, and are now fluent in Valencian, but it was tough for them. You can get an English or Spanish (or both) education in the private schools, or in State schools if you move down the coast, out of the Valencian region. Good luck with your move, and welcome to Spain!
