Hi
We are a couple relocating to Denia about Sept/October time, we would appreciate any advice on which airport would be the best to fly to with regards to traveling to Denia with our small dog as i understand dogs are not really welcome on public transport, what and how would you think the best option would be?

Thanks

You can use google maps to find different transport options between two points. A quick look shows up ALSA as the bus operator and I also found this about travelling on their buses, www.alsa.com/en/web/bus/alsa-experience/plan-your-journey/pet-transportation

A hire car would be the easiest option or maybe have your dog sent over with a pet transporter so you only have to worry about getting yourselves there on public transport and your dog will be looked after the whole way and delivered at your convenience.

Cheryl is quite right - using a pet transporter is by far the best option because you then don’t have to worry remotely about the animal. You can arrange for it to be delivered to a local kennel to await your convenience which is what we did with our two cats - they were perfectly fine and meant we werne’t worried about them with an of the usual possibilities of last minute unforeseen glitches.

Alicante is probably easier.  Valencia a bit further and only two buses a day from the airport.  Beniconnect has a pet policy....look it up.  Max 15kg in a carrier in the back with luggage (minivan), I think.   Otherwise look at private transfer with Beniconnect or a taxi.....lots of info on their website.  Alsa is like national express....their pet policy is 10kg. Ask the question on JaveaConnect....on facebook....probably more answers from people who have done it.  Good luck.....empathy if it has just done a major trip from Thailand!!

Another option is one way hire.  Caronline is a personal car rental company in Moraira....twenty minutes from Javea.  Worth getting a quote.  You pick the car up at the airport.  Very helpful people.
