Hello

After living in London for the last 28 years I had decided to go back to Spain. Although I am from North East Spain  I will be moving to Denia. I believe is a place with as many expat as Spanish which I would prefer as I had been living abroad longer than in Spain although I grow up there.

I am going to sell my house in London and I do want to buy a 2-3 bed apartment within walking distance of a beach and Denia town.

I have 3 dogs that of course will be coming to Denia with mamy and I was wondering how dog friendly Denia is and if there are dog friendly beaches in the area. I am also a keen horse rider and would like to know if there are good stables near by.

I will be working for my UK company from home initially but I would also will be looking into starting my own dog walking and pet nanny services in the area and I was wondering if there is good demand for it.

In general is Denia a good place to live? Which areas are best to buy property?

Kind Regards

Arancha Crespo

Hi Arancha,

Denia would be a great choice for someone like you. It has everything I think you might be looking for. The population is high majority Spanish. There is a good cultural Spanish scene, excellent shops, bars, restaurants and support services. The town is quite large now but it has retained its character, especially around the castle and the front.

It has two fantastic marinas, both with restaurants and bars. There is a small beach to the south of the town (Les Rotes) and very long stretches of beach just to the north of the town, only 300 yards (Las Marinas Los Deveses etc)  I do know Marinas is dog friendly, I see people walking dogs there most days.

Where to live depends on how close you want to be to the town, or to the centre of the town, or to the beaches. I'm not sure if you have been to Denia recently? There is a massive choice of properties, you need to decide on your budget, then start to have a look online. I would recommend  a good place to start would be www.rightmove.co.uk >Spain>Choose map>Denia>insert budget etc>find properties.
