Hi everyone

I understand that Iberdrola charges customers for reactive electricity , which is the electricity that is not really used by the co Sumer .From my notions of electricity this reactive power can be reduced to gain in efficiency and have better power factor near to 1 by installing capacitors fir high consuming appliances .

This. May reduce the bills too .

I was wondering if anybody has tried this .

Thank you

I haven't seen PFC on a domestic property here.

Hi aadebbah,

Power factor correction capacitors would only give benefits to Inductive loads, i.e. motors etc. In a domestic property the benefits would not be worth its consideration .

Commercial and certainly Industrial properties are probably what iberdrola are referring to.
