I have a holiday place in Denia and have just received another bill shock from Aqualia (530 euros!, twice the usage of the same period from last year)

We've had leaks in the past that should now be fixed but I really need to monitor usage daily to get on top of the issues before the next bill. I was hoping Aqualia's app "Aqualia Connect" might let me monitor perhaps daily but they have locked the android app to Spain only so I can't download it in the UK. I've tried all the usual dodges (VPN, Playstore cache clearing) but I can't appear to get around this. We aren't out until October, I've tried contacting Aqualia and they just bounce my request. So a few questions for the forum:

1) Does anyone use the Aqualia Connect App? If so does it allow daily or perhaps more frequent usage monitoring?

2) Any UK android users found a way around the country restriction short of buying a cheap Spanish PAYG just to run the App!

3) I believe there is an Aqualia office in Denia but checking reviews doesn't feel me with much confidence!   Any feedback on experiences in dealing with the office staff either remotely or face to face when I'm next out, especially given my Spanish still needs a lot of work :)

Thanks

You can register with the water suppliers by entering your account details. I would always advise people to do this as they alert you when the consumption goes up and warn you of a possible leak.

Always switch your water off at the mains and not just the house if you leave for some time. Leaks to the meter are their responsibility.

No idea how Aqualia works but we are with Aguagest and you sign in using your contract number and NIE.

Your bill either shows a leak or someone is using your water whilst you are away.

No idea how to get around the blocking of the app if you are not in the country but try signing in from the website as ours works where ever we are whilst phone apps are hit and miss.

many thanks for your help. Yes I am correctly registered and we did indeed have a leak last year and they notified us (well, stuck a note on the meter which luckily our gardener noticed!) However all the pipework is now replaced. We can't turn off the main pipework as our pool and irrigation system needs water to function,  I suspect something is amiss there! Currently trying to engage Aqualia through twitter, or should I say X.

The Aqualia office in Denia can be tricky but having visited twice I can confirm there's at least one English speaking clerk.

When your turn comes just say ¿en Ingles por favor, you'll have a further wait but will be assigned to a clerk who speaks English.

Hope you get this resolved ok
