Hi Kim,

it makes sense to do the checks but it will limit the number of travellers from the UK, a PCR test here costs around £150 at the moment, for results within 48 hours. Not really feasible for many as it stands now.

Aitch.

Hi aitch,

I don't disagree.  I posted this as additional information for BriAnn40, following on from the piece I posted from Murcia news, as he's hoping to travel overland.

Kind regards,

Kim

The El Pais article shows a picture of an airport but the text stays "travellers" arriving from a high risk country, which presumably means road, rail, boat as well as plane. In fact anyone driving overland is going to arrive from France so presumably even travellers from low risk countries such as Norway would need a PCR test as they are entering Spain from a high risk country. Unless I m reading it incorrectly?

Lets hope the current restrictions across most of Europe get the infection rates down soon!

Aitch.

Hi aitch,

I think both these articles demonstrate that, whereas travellers from the UK have, to date, only had to worry about any travel restrictions imposed on them by their home counties, they now have to be mindful of Spain's increasingly stricter rules.  Unless they're returning to their habitual residence in Spain, I think travellers have to seriously consider the possibility of being fined, or worse still, denied entry.

Kind regards,

Kim

Interesting link to the article from Murcia,  as we have been wondering how holidaymakers have been able to drive across Spain, seems that they shouldn't be doing so. Many people have stated on this Forum that they have done this, and not been stopped and have had no checks made.

Where I live there have been a few holidaymakers that have appeared over the last couple of weeks.

I understand they they want to visit relatives or go to their second homes, but since if them are not wearing masks while walking outside,  and seem to be unaware if the rules here.

The majority of my friends are staying in as much as possible due to the increased number of people who are Covid positive, there have been several where I live in El Raso.

It is disconcerting for people who live here to see holidaymakers at the moment.

I'm aware that businesses need customers,  but we support local businesses , as do many others.

For me , I would prefer that people adhere to the regulations , and be very careful at the moment
