We are planning to drive to Spain from the UK and then get rid of our Skoda Octavia Estate, 98,000 miles.
Decision
1. Scrap
2. Part Exchange for a LH drive
3. Sell in UK and hire a car at Calais.
We would appreciate any comments/advice.

As far as I know there is at least one dealer at Orihuela Costa (main road N 322) buying RHD vehicles. In any case better choice than scrap.

We purchased a 17 year old Ford Galaxy to transport the wife, dog and I to Alicante. When we arrived we purchased a Spanish car and put the Galaxy up for sale and advertised it on Facebook marketplace, as well as on this site. We were inundated with messages, but maybe due to the location we did not get many viewers.
Eventually we sold it to a couple of english girls who were looking for a cheap car to transport them back to the Uk and to continue on there further ongoing travels. I thought it would be easy to sell, but proved a bit of pain, and we sold it for €500.
I suppose it depends what it's worth, if it's worth a couple of hundred quid, then bring it and get rid of when down here, There will always some looking for a cheap motor to return to the UK, but If it has some value, sell it in the UK.
One tip if you bring it here and managed to sell it, complete the DVLA paperwork online whilst the buyers are with you, then if they get a speeding fine it's not going to be your problem.

We may have found a Spanish LHD to buy in UK.
