I did not 'spout forth my views and opinions' but gave you facts which would be helpful to most people, i.e. the Padron is dealt with by the local town hall and residency is dealt with by the National Police in Alicante.

Yes you were spouting information to show how “ clever  and informed “ you were . But that had nothing to do with the question I asked . So anyone wanting that important (?) information would not look on a thread that was asking about traveling through Spain by car ! So what was the point of your comment ?

Thanks , that was how I read the situation . I am going to get a letter from my lawyer to confirm the meeting and hopefully by sticking to the autoroutes, hope to dodge the roadblocks 🤞. IF i dont , i hope the letter will allow me to continue as I am not visiting as a tourist

Hi Don ,I am going through this process at the moment but fortunately I live in the valencianna region and am being dealt with by my local town hall. for padron and TIE.I notice that your location is punta Prima if this is so then you will deal with Torrevieja town hall for Padron ( I think) and residencia ,if you want the new TIE then that is done in Alicante and you have to go back to a police station about 3 weeks later to collect your TIE . This TIE also includes biometric ID ( fingerprints etc).

Hi , thank you but my enquiry was about travelling to Punta Prima from France by car . I already have everything in place through my lawyer and was just trying to get information to see if/ how I could travel down to my home in Punta Prima , so I can make my appointment in December for the signing.

We are driving out to Pedreguer/Denia for fingerprint appointments on 15th & 17th December. We have been advised by the company handling our residency applications to take our "Resolucion de concesion" documents. These confirm successful residencia applications and, we are advised. should be enough to allow us to travel across Spain (via France) from the UK. I believe we will also have to complete and carry the French attestation forms to pass through France.

Interestingly, there seems to be no requirement for a COVID-19 test when entering Spain by road - only via air or sea. I imagine that is because they wouldn't be able to handle the volume of road traffic crossing the border.

Hi Don ,

I  did the route a week ago , back to the UK and got stopped just outside Valencia.  All they did was ask for my documents,  reason for the journey and any supporting documents. I had these and all was fine . No pressure or intimidation and they are just checking there is a reason for the journey.

Thank you will drop a line to my lawyer and ask him for a copy of our application . Best of luck with your journey and applications

Yes, I understand that if you have a document justifying your journey for genuine reasons you won't have a problem. Signing a Padrón would qualify. Safe journey.
