Hi Steve

Thank you for raising these points.  However to clarify we are not 'trying to find ways around the rules' as has been implied on this post.  The current situation in France allows for travel to Spain - I'm not going to get into personal/professional reasons why this would be all...

...owed etc for us on this forum. We like everyone else in Europe will be monitoring how the situation evolves in both countries - as circumstances can change very quickly.

Regarding the reference to "civic responsability"  I can assure you that we respect the rules far more than our local neighbours in France.  We would be applying the same rigour regarding protocols if we did actually manage to get to Spain: ie local grocery shopping, walk along the seafront and staying at home.. We did EXACTLY the same thing during our summer holidays in Spain this summer - no trips to restaurants no socialising with neighbours etc.  The only difference being my partner could telework there (which he is allowed to do) and I could manage to get out and walk in weather and conditions that are better than here.  Regarding protocols in place the only difference now is whereas we voluntarily did a covid test prior to arriving in Spain in the summer, the Spanish authorities (and righly so) require the same to be done now.

To recap the sole purpose of my post was to get information relating to where it would be possible to do a PCR/covid test in El Campello - assuming conditions allowed us to get to Alicante and where we'd like to do a test prior to returning to France.  Unfortunately I am still waiting for someone to provide me with this information request.

My post wasn't aimed at you so apologies if you felt it was. More a generalisation about some posts, and general tone from many threads on the subject of restrictions.

I hope you get a reply to your specific question soon.

Kind regards, Steve

Thanks Steve - there have been some comments on this post which definitely felt like they were being aimed at me! But thank you for your awareness about how I felt. I am well aware that my question seems to have created a lot of debate on the issue of restrictions etc.  Unfortunately all I was looking for when I posted my request was information on where it would be possible to get a private PCR test in EC-  if we ever managed to get there!

I'm still waiting on clarification from the Spanish Embassy on non-resident issue: my husband has some Spanish colleagues so they may be able to provide us with additional information: one main issue is getting a PCR test result in English or Spanish which isn't that obvious in France!

I'm hopeful that perhaps there are some people on this forum who may know about the possibilities regarding where to do PCR testing privately.  The reality is that this virus is with us for quite some time - so I'm sure we'll all be doing more tests rather than less for the foreseeable future, vaccines are still quite a while away for most of us.

Needless to say if I receive any further clarifications on these issues I'll share the information with the forum via relevant links, documentation etc.

Regards

Caroline

Someone said tests were being done in La Marina . These were also posted in another enquiry about testing. See the photos below

Thanks a friend suggested Imed hospital at Elche - I may need to do some research regarding requirements etc.

For anyone interested this is their hospitals website - may be safer than links

https://www.imedhospitales.com/en/

Not completely sure what their requirements are: we have French gps prescriptions.  But given the  CV have extended the confinement etc to 9 December we'll have to just wait and see what happens..

En la Comunidad Valenciana, se alargan las restricciones hasta que termine el puente de diciembre.

Thanks we'll keep an eye on the situation - and can check with our Spanish neighbours as well as getting clarification from Spanish embassy.

It came from the tv channel where they stated 9 December

https://twitter.com/telediario_tve/status/1328701518820896768

La Generalitat prorogra las restricciones hasta el 9 diciembre

Hello

Ok that was much  clearer than the written paragraph, that translated to:---

"until the end of the December  bridge"

Cheers

Hi flying back to U.K. no test is required you just have to self isolate 14 days

Correct that’s what I’ll be doing. Fair exchange for 3 months less of the Scottish winter 🥶
