I feel my property insurance covers electrical equipment, also I have insurance with my electric supplier, again I will have to check what both policies cover, but I am sure electrical items are covered to a certain amount, stay safe and healthy my friend.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes Iberdrola cover small appliances I believe, though I am more worried re larger more expensive appliances - any advise would be much appreciated

Property insurance is highly unlikely to cover appliance breakdowns etc If a washing machine develops a fault for example, a home appliance policy will likely cover labour costs and, dependant on level if cover, parts and appliance replacement costs if it can’t be fixed. I don’t know of any standard home contents insurance policies that go to this level?

Look at your house insurance we had a power surge a few years ago and had to claim for a washing machine the same thing happened to my neighbour and she claimed for a fridge freezer and TV

For appliance failure/replacement needed due to power surges etc I would expect a home insurance policy to cover replacement or repairs. However, I doubt a policy would cover, for example, replacing a failed element in an oven or washing machine pcb failure?

Ibidrola do a cover, it cost extra every month and it covers repairs to electrical appliances. They repaired and replaced a part for our cooker no problem and no additional cost. As our appliances are getting on a bit now we cancelkedcthuscadfitional premium. The helpful lady in Guardamar Office can tell you all about it.

I have heard and read some good post on a company who can help with obtaining best value electricity suppliers and would probably point you in the right direction re insurance, check them out, good luck and stay safe and healthy.
