Hi we have bought in formentera and just wondering if anyone could tell us the names of the nearest towns are we know of Dolores .Almoradi.. but what other towns are close by and how long would it take to walk to each of these towns or can you walk to them

If you go on google maps, asking for directions from A to B and select walking, it will let you know.
Rojales and Benijofer are your closest towns.
Almoradi is nice enough but not what I would call a safe walk as it's a fast and busy road with no pavements to speak of.
With apologies to anyone who actually lives in Dolores, I wouldn't bother with it as there is nothing there remotely worthy of the effort of the walk!

If you want some easy and off-road walking, just go down to the Segura, which has footpaths on both sides. One way takes you to Rojales and then Guardamar. The other way takes you to Algorfa, Benejúzar, and then Orihuela.

Lovely walks along the river as other posts have said, once through Benijofar Quesada is accessible to but wouldn't want to do it in the heat of summer. You can also get to Guardamar but bikes would be a good option if you want to go that far, with bikes, San Fulgencio, Dia Veja and Dia Nueve also possible.
