Hi Everyone.

We're Flying out tomorrow (6/9) really looking forward to our long overdue break..

I've just seen a link on a Facebook page for Mosquito fumigation taking place this week.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/637324919737837/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=2598581253612184

Especially Wednesday 7th at the Clot de Galvany.  Our accommodation is over the road from there.

Do I need to be concerned? Is there an on going Mosquito problem over there at the moment?

Just asking as I want to make sure I have enough creams/sprays etc..

kind regards and thanks in advance.

Mike

It’s Spain you are always going to find mosquitoes.

They tend to breed after rain, then two weeks later we have an increase in mosquitoes.  -We had heavy rain last week.

Spraying against mosquitoes is an ongoing job for most ayuntamientos especially in areas where there is stagnant water. Hopefully the heavy rains forecast for the next week will delay the breeding process, but the forecast  predicts that the temperature  is not going to drop significantly as it normally does at this time of year. So yes in the  next weeks mosquitoes may be a problem.

Just ensure you don’t use any fragrances and stock up on baby cologne

Best insect repellent we have found is Boots with 50% deet. Not a single bite. Even in India were there are loads.
