Is there any ATM in the area that allows you to draw money out without incurring a charge ?

Just about everywhere in Spain is cashless now but if for some reason you really do want to carry significant cash best buy it in UK before travelling.

I rarely use cash these days and am perfectly happy if I've got €20 or so in my wallet.

Hi

Where I am, there are a number of Cashzone ATMs which I use with my Wise card. They have never charged me, although Wise have sometimes, in accordance with their t&C's.

However I hardly ever use ATMs, because I use my card/phone for most things, so I may be out of date. One or two people on this forum have said that they have been charged by Cashzone - but I think it depends on whether or not you already have euros in your Wise account. If the ATM asks if you want to use their own currency conversion, say no! I suspect if you say yes then they will "convert" at a rate of 1 to 1 but charge you for it! (But that's just my guess).

According to Google maps, you're nearest cashzone is in Santa Pola, but my experience is that not all of their ATMs are listed by Google, so there may be one nearer to you.

I will probably need to withdraw a little cash this week, hopefully I will find that it's still free!

Cheers

Steve

I also carry exactly €20 in my wallet for the odd miscellaneous purchase, but its been there untouched for about 6 months. I only ever use my debit card these days

Cashzone now charge 3.95 for Wise card withdrawals. The only one free is Cuxtabank, i tried them all on my visit last month. Even Deutsche Bank that used to be free now charge 4 euros.

Hi

I wish I could get to the bottom of this issue!

Only 3 days ago, I use Wise/Cashzone to withdraw €70 with no charges at all!

Perhaps it depends on the size of the withdrawal? Did you withdraw significantly more than me? Or maybe the fee was for currency conversion?

Bit baffled!

Hi Steve, I tried to withdraw 200 euros (the Wise free allowance), after refusing the ridiculous currency conversion the cash zone in Denia wanted to charge me 3.95 for the transaction.i declined.

Now I'm even more baffled.

Only an hour ago I too withdrew €200 and the only charge was €1.23 - this being charged by Wise in accordance with their T&Cs because I withdrew €70 last week. €1.23 is 1.75% of 70.

Interestingly, the ATM never offered to do currency conversion. Perhaps that's a clue.
