Hi, We are returning once again to Guardamar for a couple of weeks on holiday. Arriving at Alicante ( usually get the bus to Guardamar both ways) and planning to use the buses/ coaches to explore the surrounding areas during our stay. Is there a travel pass that would make this more economical? If so where would I buy it and how much does it cost. Can’t wait to get back to beautiful Guardamar!

Thanks in advance.

J 😁

Better forget bout public transport, it's timewasting and inefficient. Except on weekends there is poor or no service after 10 pm.

We were hoping to use buses during the day time primarily- I was just hoping there may be some kind of three day bus pass for the area or something but perhaps not. Thanks anyway for the reply 👍

Hello

I have found the busses to be fantastic. You can get the bus from Guardamar bus station to Rojales 5 x a day €1.40 each way, there you can pop into museums,Thursday market, the caves, cobbled streets, river cafes and bars and a 15 min walk from there is benimar so you can explore both towns in a day last bus is 8pm great day out. You can also get the bus to Cartegena about €7 each way 2 hr trip but leave early and get late bus home. You can also get to la zenya shopping centre just a 10 min walk from last stop and from there you can walk around Cabo Roig.  Plus also Orihuela which I haven't been to yet. Lots of time tables at the station. Absolutely lots to do via buses sometimes they may not be on time but you are in the glorious sunshine . If I can offer any more info pls let me know.

Have fun

Pauline

The town hall website gives details of the bus operators, with links to their timetables:

Thanks, Any suggestions of any local areas to visit that are accessible by bus/coach? We have previously visited Alicante, La Mata, Orhuela and Torrevieja. Just thought it may be nice to explore some other spots.

Appreciate the reply 👍

Oh my goodness, thank you for so much information- that is exactly what I was asking about. Any suggestions are so very welcome. We love Guardamar and don’t mind taking our time to get to and fro at all. We noticed that the buses seemed very reasonable, but as we are using them to and from the airport out of season I was merely considering whether a pass existed - no problem if it doesn’t. Thanks again for so many great ideas, we will give them a go, and if you think of anywhere else please just let me know. J
