Hello.   I have one or two questions, and would very much appreciate if someone could give us some ideas of how things are working.  My husband and I are isolating in the UK and don’t know how to answer their concerns.

My daughter and family, 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 3 years old, are planning on taking their flights out in mid July, to stay in our Apartment.  The nearest beaches are at Guardamar, at the southern end, the La Mata side.

My question is this.......the law says that face masks should be worn whenever you are out of the home environment.  Does this include when you are on the beach?  We have seen pictures of the busy beaches but no one seems to be wearing one.
If you go for an ice cream at the Gelato shop, is it only takeaway....cornets, and tubs.   Or can you sit at a table to enjoy it?

Also, how do you get tickets for the beach,  how much do they cost,  and how long you can stay for?   Does each person need a ticket?  They would be driving to the beach.

Could someone kindly tell me if more than one person can go into the supermarkets?  Are there masks available to buy?  Is it better to bring them from home?

We would Much appreciate any comments and advise you can give, and thank you for your time in replying.

Thank you.

Hello Ray

Thank you for your clear comments and information.  It’s a great help to have it written down.

Having read the forum, I thought most places would require masks to be worn.

They will get masks to bring out.   Here at home, I have made some of lined ‘pretty’ cotton and elastic for the ears.  Would these homemade ones be Allowed in Spain?
Thank you for your reply.

Hi Fay50,

You have to wear masks anywhere where you might not be able to keep to the social distancing rule, for example, on a busy street or on the prom.

All supermarkets insist you wear masks inside their shops and also use the hand sanitizer.

You don't need to wear masks inside a restaurant but you must adhere to the social distancing rules. You may have to ask to use the toilet in the restaurant so they can disinfect it afterwards.

No need to wear a mask on the beach but again there will be restrictions on movement. You may need to book a spot on the beach using the app, when it becomes available. There will be no cost to go on the beach.

Bring a supply of masks with you if you can to get you through the first few days but they are readily available at the Chino warehouse and Farmacia.

Loads of restrictions but if you are caught flouting the rules you could be fined heavily.

Hello Graham

Thank you for your comments and opinion.

I have to say, I agree with you, and at this stage with 2 weeks to go before the family travel, that it is all ‘up in the air’!     One can only advise and not dictate.
However, it is because of our discussions that I have asked the questions on their behalf.  Just today, they are questioning everything, and want to do the right thing.

As it happens, our grandson, aged 6, had the Virus (we think) just before lockdown, and was poorly for a week with high temperature and coughing.

We cancelled our trip to be with the family as we are in the vulnerable age group.  We have not seen them or visited them since February.  They live 150 miles away from us.

Our Apartment is on a complex, and the family will be isolated there, apart from using the communal pool, for which extremely stringent cleaning sessions, and rules of use have been distributed.

Thank you for your reply, and we will see what happens in the next week or so.  With Leicester being a problem, not far from us, and if other places have spikes, maybe the Spanish Government will not allow Brits in to Spain in a week or so!

Best wishes, and I hope we will get the opportunity to visit our Holiday Home from Home before the end of the year!

Thank you Tebo53  with the info about The booking  of beach spaces.  We will look for the App.

Also, we will look for masks here, once a decision has been made on whether to travel or not!  That is the million dollar question.

Best wishes.

We use Moncayo beach, there are no markers, you do not have to book, there is always plenty of space and everyone is responsible and adheres to the regulations, and haven’t seen a patrol of any kind apart from the lifeguards since it reopened.

Moncayo is the southern end of Guardamar beach.

Personally I wear this type now as far more easy to breath through than the paper type!
