Went to Guardamar to change the address of my car from Malaga Provence to Guardamar and was informed that I had to go to the Traffico in Alicante, I am a Non Resident, is this the case or can I do it locally.

I haven't had to do it but if you have to go to the Trafico Office I would suggest the one in Elche to be closer and when I made an appointment to exchange my driving licence found them very friendly, helpful and had English speaking staff.

Thanks John, great idea to use Elche, will go there as it looks to have good parking.

Go to Elche. You may need an appointment.

The change process is simple. Take your vehicle documents and a recent copy of your padron.
At the desk ask for “Cambio de domicilio” You get a document to fill in for change of address.
Take the document to the counter when it’s your turn. Had over the pardon and vehicle documents.
The clerk will take what’s required and print a new registration document.
