Does anyone know the best way to deal with ants. Any crumbs left longer than a few minutes and they’re everywhere. I’ve only been to guardamar in October and December before and not encountered this problem before. Is it a seasonal headache? Please help with any advice. Thanking you in advance.

Sorry but it’s just a way of living in Spain.

They’re attracted by food but come inside looking for water, which is why you very often find them in kitchens and bathrooms

You need to make sure that every surface is clean, don’t leave open cans of drinks around, empty the toaster  etc etc. Also attracted to gel, so close the lids on your toothpaste

You can buy an annual spray called Oro, to spray round window edges and doors

Or buy little square ant traps

Use an insecticide floor cleaner

Good news is that they should be gone soon

A very old Spanish lady explained, sprinkle some fine/granulated washing powder near where the ants emerge & around the edges. They tend to carry it back to the nests & exterminate the others. The solution worked.
