Hi everyone

My husband & I are researching Spain with a view to a possible move within the next 2 years , never visited before , so we are thinking of hiring a car to take a look around this guardamar area . We are late 40s like walks bars restaurants & nice beach even though our week is more about driving around to see some different towns - any advice appreciated , any apartment recommendations for a week with nice view and by amenities ? Is the long term rental market potential ok there? I’m learning to speak Spanish as will need to work part time & my husband will work too with his current company as he can do this from home - any tips on a realistic budget & rental costs etc ? All advice appreciated jayne

I stayed at the Europa House Sun Beach a couple of times on my viewing trips before buying, it is on all the booking sites (Trivago, Booking.com etc]. Nice apart hotel swimming pool, allows dogs if you have one, good rates available and various size apartments. It is a nice walk to the beach and local supermarket and town centre are about 5min walk. I found it ideal for getting to view areas in the vicinity and farther afield. You can find it on Google Maps very easily, the hotel is at the side of the Rio Segura.

I purchased my Holiday home 2016 in Toretta Florida, Torrevieja and love it - it's peaceful with many shops (LIDL, Carrefour, Haberneras) 5mns away and lovely restaurants /bars just round the corner - I can walk down to the Marina in 20mns

Friends tell me that rentals for a 2 bed place is circa 400euros per month - hope this helps you

thats sounds wonderful, thank you.sounds ideal. we have been talking about it for a few years, and are both very keen to start to get looking making plans, its just knowing where to start really, so least we have a visit planned, and ive started to learn Spanish - for beginners granted but its a start . ive lots of admin, customer service experience & would need to seek part time work - so thought it may be good to be within a 30-45 min drive to airport as i see lots of part time work there, unless i can opt for shop or bar work or something admin wise , but is there a shortage of work ? these are all things we need to start looking into, plus obviously the rental market and monthly living costs.
