...rom the Visitor Centre at 10am to the canal El Acequión, then along the bridle path to the bird hide nearest the island. Continuing along the bridle path to the picnic site, I then return along the cemetery road to the Visitor Centre at 1pm. I would welcome anyone to accompany me and my route is flexible. Please bring water,plus binoculars & telescope if possible. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for this natural park. Yours sincerely, Peter

Hi Myrtle, The La Mata Natural Park Visitor Centre is just off the N332 at La Mata.  If you are driving Northwards you can see the little bungalow, white walled with a red roof, from the N332 a few km before you get there. At La Mata roundabout, go to the 3rd exit taking the small road signe...

The centre is open from 9am to 2pm (1pm Sat & Sun) and it is my intention to be there every Thursday at 10am.  Just ask for the 'voluntario' Peter.
