Hi there we are 3 irish women in our 50s going to guadamar del segura 24th sep to 5th Oct. We are staying in an apt close to the water front close to the main beach n cafes .  We are wondering if you can recommend some good restaurants and bars to go to. Seafood and wine is a favourite  with us. Also if there is a market here or where the best one is . Finally if any of you know of any wine tastings tours around as we've always wanted to go but never got a chance .

Lots of excellent restaurants to visit in Guardamar, there’s a whole street full of them in Av del Pins, by the park. Lots of lovely little side streets with lots of bars. You’ll find that because it’s a mainly Spanish area that a lot of the restaurants  don’t open till late to cater for the Spanish eating at 10.00pm.

If you take a short walk down to Roqueta Beach  there’s lots of little restaurants there.

Market Day is Wednesday morning and the market is held in the car park  and surrounding streets near to the salud and the bus station. Not far from the industrial estate.

The nature reserve at La Mata hold wine testing events. There are a couple of local coach companies who do lots of excellent day trips, including wine tasting, but unfortunately they don’t pick up In Guardamar, so you’d either have to drive or get a taxi to the pick up points which are located in the expat areas.

Hi Emmmara,

Guardamar is a lovely town, I live 10 minutes inland from there and we take our woof for walks through the parks and along the prom several times a week.  Great choice 👍

There's loads of choice in Guardamar, so if you want somewhere for lunch with a great view, tapas and a very palatable house rosé, try "El Velacho" on the seafront promenade at Avenida Europa 19, Tel: 965 72 91 11

At the other end of the scale, for fabulous fish, seafood and a great wine selection for dinner, try "Le Bleu":

If you fancy somewhere for pre-dinner drinks and a great view, try the "Sky Bar" on the top of Hotel Meriodonal (the hotel restaurant is very nice too):

Other favourites - but book in advance if you don't want to queue - are:

"El Bocaito", on the prom at Avenida Europa 11, Tel: 966 72 55 24  - eat inside, but ask for a table in the window with a seaview.  This is also a good venue for lunch, as it's on the promenade overlooking the beach.

and "El Barco" (again, book a table for dinner inside at a window table with seaview):

Have fun!

Kind regards,

Kim

Platform 1 Hoops Bar & The Shamrock are all very friendly English speaking bars. They're all off Avenida Cervantes which is the main avenue up from the beach.

There are also lots of really lovely Spanish bars that you must try to get a real feel for Guardamar.

The Tourist information is on the side of the main square opposite the Church on Guardamar's high street. They speak excellent English and are very helpful.

It's also very easy & cheap to get the bus up to Alicante

I'm sure you will love your visit to Beautiful Guardamar

Hello:

About taste wine, since you are 3 people I would recomend to buy some bottles of diferent wines in https://www.facebook.com/lalicoreria.guardamar and try one each day sitting on the beach or in any another place of Guardamar. I can't recomend any wine since I dont like it

I would recomend you to try "paella" at lunch time if you didnt before. Also you would love https://elmollet.couchecreativos.com/ to dinner.

Regards and see you soon.
