You say it needs an expert.

And yet you post a video by Stephen Fry who is no expert but a tv entertainment personality who is no expert but a fanatically biased anti democratic remainer who wants to ignore the result of the referendum.

I am all for a rational debate and accept that many people have different opinions but for heavens sake do not put forward such a one sided argument as something we should listen to . He is no expert.

To my mind experts are not needed  all of their prophecies have come to nought about the impact of Brexit.

Putting aside all the self interests of people it is a very simple question for any country, do you want right to govern yourself or not?

Dear helpful member, thank you for letting us learn a little more about Brexit. I enjoy getting this information as an additional one. However, I want to share with everyone and you, why I have voted Brexit. I came to the UK spring 1962. It was a country that had an English character(English because I have only lived in England). The people felt happy that finally they could apply themselves to bettering their standards of living. I was an Au Pair was not allowed to stay more than 2 years to learn English. Only Spanish and Italians were allowed if they domestic work. I learned quickly hairdressing as they had to grant me permission having shortage of hairdressers. I wanted because the amount of all sorts of people who came to Britain has changed the English way of life. I do not feel I live in England. I liked the English way of life so much that I never wanted to return to my country. Free movement with all the advantages has made UK something precious that has been lost. I love the English language and I love the opportunities I was given, with total freedom within the laws, to do well. I grieve about the loss of the English way of life that it is no longer here. I walk in Croydon and 2 people out of 4 I meet they do not speak English. It is against the free movement I voted for. I know a lot of people are not happy in Spain, as I speak Spanish and they feel alienated in parts of their country. I know a lot of Germans that they have complaint to me with what is changing too rapidly in their country. To me the control it is preserving the English culture that is in the countryside and in small towns. This is why I am leaving London that I adore and moving to West Sussex reluctantly. Thank again for your thoughtfulness. Luna34

Brexit is a nightmare..most in the uk are peeved off with it..and the thought of boris Johnson becoming pm is a joke..the tories couldn't get a good deal over the last few years so with only a few months away again god only knows what we will end up with..most of Scotland want another independence vote as most voted to stay in the eu i think this is a long term debate.

Fry is a remainer.  Why would you expect him to project a balanced view.

Just as the opposites would project their opinions? No. It's for the individual to make the choice, change or amend as this protracted years proceeds.  As now, we ( the public are talking about the potential benefits or disasters) the UK government are concerned only with their power-plays in their jobs. Public will decide both as above were on "Have I got news for you in a UK TV programme." one will pop in in as a potential  UK prime minister. (when?,who?  but later) Villas
