There is a dog that has been continually barking for at least two years. Shut in a shed for most of the day. It’s never walked. It seems right now the owners are away & someone is feeding it & shutting it in again. It’s now barking 8.30-22.00.We have recorded it as requested by Apasa/vet & reported it to the police last year but nothing has been done. We can’t sit out& my mum who is 90 stays in her bedroom as the constant barking is stressing her/us out not to say how distressed this dog is. Please can someone help us ?

Hi, Lesley.

Sorry to hear all that..   Also feel sorry for poor dog of course.

I think that you should contact "SEPRONA". That is the Guardia civil animal help dept. Email is  [email protected] or T/P urgent on 062.

Hope they will sort it out for you.

Adrian

Hi Adrian

Thank you for replying.

We have been in to our local Guardia Civil office this am and explained it all to them.

They said all the time the dog is being fed/watered there is nothing we or them can do 😫😞.

Hi Lesley17,

It sounds to me like the Guardia Civil are fobbing you off.  The new law on Animal Welfare came into force last September, making the previous conditions of an animal being sheltered, fed and watered no longer sufficient.  Scroll down to Article 24 and I think you'll find several examples of where the conditions in which your neighbour's dog is being kept do not comply with the new legislation:

https://www.citizensadvice.org.es/new-law-on-animal-welfare/

Officers of the Seprona organisation, whilst part of the Guardia Civil, are not necessarily based at all GC police stations, so I'd suggest that you do report this independently to Seprona.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

Thank you.

I will definitely report it to Seprona and see what their advice is.

Regards

Lesley
