You will need a NIE and proof of permanent residence. Used cars are ridiculously overpriced and subject to a special transfer tax depending on age and make but not on shape and condition. Insist in an invoice and reject a contract. Hace a look at www.autoscout24.com abd compare prices.
Make sure you know the process or find a gestor to do the paperwork.
